Our Organic Pig Feed Hog Feed is Now Soy Free, Corn Free, Canola Free
Why corn, soy and canola free you ask? Evidence is mounting that the GMO crops are cross pollinating with their organic counterparts. Therefore when we as consumers eat organic foods, although the crop was grown to organic standards it is likely that cross pollination from a nearby GMO field has occurred. As a result, we have formulated our feeds to omit the 3 main GMO crops entirely, which are corn, soy and canola. Here are a few links to research on corn cross pollination and GMO canola growing wild.

sCALCULATING HOW MUCH HOG FEED TO BUY YOUR PIGS
Generally speaking early rations have higher protein levels which are reduced as the hog gains weight.
18% protein ration is fed to an early hog until they reach approximately 40lbs in weight.
16% protein ration is fed to the hog from 40lbs to 125lbs in weight
14% protein ration is known as a hog finisher after they achieve a weight of 125lbs or greater.
Most people process their hogs around 250-300lbs
- according Oklahoma State University
The quantity of feed a WEANER (weaned hog) will eat depends generally on their weight. Hogs should generally NOT be weaned until achieving 6lbs in weight.
Pigs gain 1.5 to 1.7lbs per day until they reach 110lbs, then their weight gain will increase to around 1,8-2,2 lbs per day
GENERAL TREND - according the USDA Nat'l Institute of Food and Agriculture
0.55lbs of feed per day while your hog weighs between 6-11lbs
1.1 lbs of feed per day while your hog weighs between 11-22lbs
2.2 lbs of feed per day while your hog weighs between 22-44lbs
4.1 lbs of feed per day while your hog weighs between 44-110lbs
5.7 lbs of feed per day while your hog weighs between 110-170lbs
6.8 lbs of feed per day while your hot weighs between 170-265lbs
Pigs have the highest conversion weight efficiency of any any animal, which means they produce more weight gain from a weight of feed than any other animal after broiler chickens. Plus it only take 7-9 months to get them to weight.
This information is gathered from different sources to assist a person in deciding how much of each ration can be needed as their pig grows and to help a person quantify what kinds of feed and how much of each kind pf feed a person will need of each rations and when to change the types of feed to less protein and fat for optimal hog weight gains. However, results may vary.
